1/25/89  letter to Sophie Bourbon

When I asked Sally Timms at Garage D'or in Minneapolis if you were their patron she said, "Our patron saint."  So here's to you and to the danceband on the edge of time:  I can explain the imminent collapse of the US and show that for those outside, the prospect should be (practically as well as ethically, aesthetically, intellectually) a consummation devoutly to be wished.

In '71 it struck me that a collapse was in the cards and I've followed the epiphany's inferences ever since.  Supposing the event in a universe ruled by Heisenberg's principle proved the key to a (Wittgenstein notwithstanding) verifiable metaphysics.  It's worldisround stuff.

At least it seems so to me, and if I'm right it's late.  I'd like to publish soon, in Britain.  I've enclosed several drafts at the heart of the matter, brief but suggesting the elegance and power of the paradigm.

I look forward to hearing from you.  Give my regards to the band.
